Back in September, a handful of us put our noggins together to make something beautiful: an editorial merging street photography with fashion photography.
Rich’s work is full of characters, everyday people going about their lives. He has a penchant for catching affectionate moments, people being people, and a humorous way of seeing the world through his lens.
On the day we had a full team. Max produced (best producer in the world) and made everything run seamlessly. Becky brought her off-the-cuff styling, making every look feel effortless and wearable. Dechka and Kristen dropped jaws all day, with passers-by stopping to take their picture and tell them how great they looked. Jasper filmed everything, capturing scenes and soundscapes and building the story as we went. Rich was always ten steps ahead, spotting the next location and waiting patiently for everyone to walk into frame.
Every look was HEIDI STUTT, so I was on set with the suitcase for fittings, adjustments and last-minute fixes, in absolute awe of the lot of them.
The wardrobe was a mix: aprons, a silk dress, silk trousers and a jersey tank, all cut and sewn from deadstock fabric; a blazer and jeans, both reworked from sourced vintage pieces; and a graphic T-shirt printed from an embroidery I designed.
Afterwards, Rich, Max and I spent a couple of sessions in his studio editing hundreds of images down into stories. It was the hardest part of the whole process, because there were so many good ones to let go of.
